“Plague” (Monatto)

“Plague” (Monatto)

“Plague” (Monatto) – mixed technique
A grim image - the plague – a disease that in the course of centuries has prevented who knows how many Michelangelos, Raffaellos, Leonardos, many excellent painters, sculptors, writers or poets from being known and honoured. How many possible historic excellences it nipped in a mass grave!
It’s really true, accidentally: “Life is just a shadow that walks, a poor actor who struts and wiggles during his hour on stage, after which nothing is heard. A fairy tale told by an idiot, full of noise and fury, which means nothing.”
(William Shakespeare – Macbeth)
