Description
“Ploughing – In medieval times, most people lived off the land and life was dominated by the annual cycle of ploughing, sowing and harvesting. Tools were totally inadequate, such as the hand-drawn wooden plough, which could only turn light soil. It was not until the 6th century that heavier iron ploughs were developed. This work is one of many examples of how mankind has had to work hard to make a living over the centuries.
